The Third Annual Kentucky Crossroads Harvest Festival will take place October 1-3, 2010. Our cook-off event, renamed the Jim Beam BBQ Classic, has been sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society and named a KY State Championship Competition by Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear.

Entry fee: $200 per team
$7,500 in cash prizes up for grabs!
Grand Champion: $1,000 + trophy
Reserve Grand Champion: $500 + trophy
First in each category: $500
Second in each category: $400
Third in each category: $300
Fourth in each category: $200
Fifth in each category: $100
Chili: 100% of entry money
Dessert: 100% of entry money
A Note about Chili and Dessert:
Both Chili and Dessert are optional categories
for teams registered for the Jim Beam BBQ Classic. Both
categories will also be open to Washington County Residents.
Entry fees for Chili and Dessert categories are $25 per
category, limit one entry per person or team.
Chili must be made at the BBQ competition site
and must not include any home-canned items, so bring your
cooking equipment and be prepared to cook outdoors. Chili will
be judged at 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening by local dignitaries.
Desserts must include Jim Beam as an
ingredient and may be made ahead or at home. Anything goes
regarding presentation displays for desserts. Desserts will be
judged by KCBS judges at 2 p.m., following the final category of
meats.
Become a Kansas City Barbeque Society (KCBS) Certified Barbeque Judge!

The class is slated for July 31, 2010, at Backyard Barbeque Family Restaurant. The cost of the class for KCBS non-members is $75, and includes a KCBS membership and one-year subscription to KCBS' monthly publication, the Bullsheet. The cost for current KCBS members is $50. The deadline to register for the class is Tuesday, July 27th. Registration and payment will not be accepted at the door.
